  • Comfort:2 nights of 4-star hotel accommodation in Puerto Natales based on double/twin rooms, 1 Night at the comfortable Pampa lodge bases on double/twin rooms + 1 Night at the farm Estancia La Peninsula in shared rooms with bunk beds. This is the only rustic accommodation due to the fact that the farm normally does not receive guests overnight. You share rooms and bathrooms for 1 night but the sunset & sunrise photoshoots will compensate the snoring of your roommates 😉 + 3 nights of Glamorous Camping at Patagonia Bagual based on double/twin Glamping tents (4 nights of glamping for the 9 days program).
    What is Glamping?
    The word 'glamping' derives its name from Glamorous Camping, a form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those usually associated with traditional camping. Glamping is where stunning nature meets modern luxury. It’s a way to experience the untamed and completely unique parts of the world—without having to sacrifice creature comforts. It’s much more than a simple tent. The waterproof canvas tents are spacious 2 person tents where you can stand upright. They are mounted on a wooden deck off the ground. Equipped with real beds, real full mattresses, linen, blankets, and pillows.     The 6 Glamping tents are located near the main building where the kitchen, dining room, living room, and all modern sanitary facilities are provided.   • International Passport:  Required for most non-South-American foreigners (still 6 months valid)

  • Visa:  most European and Latin American citizens do not need a visa to travel to Chile. Contact the Chilean Embassy in your country for more info.

  • Vaccinations: not mandatory but recommended (consult your physician)

  • Gateway: Fly in and out to Punta Arenas (Airport code: PUQ)

Are you alone?

Do not worry, you can individually register/book and join in a group with other photographers. Most participants are people who register individually and may just like you, not know the other photographers in your group. Since everyone has the same points of interest (photography, horses, nature, travel, culture) there is always a good atmosphere and understanding among the participants. Participants come from all corners of the world, so you can be part of a group with photographers from the United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, France, Sweden, Canada, USA, Australia, Brazil and many others countries. Your friends are suddenly so much more international! :) 

Weather in Southern Chilean Patagonia and during the trip : 

October to April are the best months of the year to visit Patagonia for a photo Safari (spring-summer-fall)

In Chilean Patagonia, especially in the Torres del Paine National Park, because of its proximity to Southern Ice Field and the Pacific Ocean, we can have all four seasons in one day, therefore, we must be prepared for everything. Wind is a major factor to determinate the climate. Wind sometimes reaching more than 100 mph. Summer temperature (December-March) is between 4C° minimum and maximum 15C° (can drop to freezing temperatures overnight), and sometimes reaching up to day temperatures of 25C° . During this season the days have 18 hours of light. October and November as well as April can be a few degrees cooler.

Luggage: 

The maximum allowable weight of your luggage depends from airline to airline. Check with the airline or travel agent how many kilograms and pieces of luggage you can take. Your personal luggage is transported during the trip to the various stopovers.

Safety: 

Chile is one of the safest countries in Latin-America, at the farm there is no need to worry at all! They also have satellite phone and radio station in case of emergency.

Language:

No worries, the trip leader/photographer is a native English speaker and the local guide/biologist is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Health: 

Chile is a safe country in terms of health. You can easily eat and drink anything without being stomach bothered. Eating raw vegetables, salads and ice-creams is no problem. There are no vaccinations required for Chile

  • 4 or 5 T-shirts and minimum 2 a shirts with long sleeves.

  • Warm hat – gloves – scarf/buff

  • Camera(s) & photographic gear

 

TRAVEL insurance MANDATORY:

We request you take a travel Insurance. Ask your local insurance company or travel agent about it. You will not be allowed to participate in the “Entre Orejas” riding holiday program without having a Personal Travel & Medical Insurance. Your insurance details will be requested on arrival.


Trip Cancellation Insurance MANDATORY:

In order to protect yourself against unforeseen circumstances interfering with your “Entre Orejas” vacation, we demand that you purchase trip cancellation insurance. You can use any travel insurance company you are comfortable with.

release agreement:

The “Entre Orejas” guests are required to sign a release agreement at the time of check-in. This is mandatory and guests cannot participate in the tour without signing the release agreement (all moneys paid are non-refundable). Please feel free to read the release agreement prior to your arrival: please download the form here. Parents or legal guardians of minor children are required to sign the release agreement on their children’s behalf. Please direct all questions to the office.
