Suitable for intermediate to experienced riders. You should be confident on a horse at all paces.

 

You can also go as a non-rider and enjoy the other non-riding farm activities, Or you might want to give the horse riding a try – easy going.

  • Age: minimum age is 12 years, only allowed if accompanied by an adult.

  • Both men and women BOOK this kind of lifechanging vacation.

  • Horses: Chilean Criollo.

  • Saddles: comfortable Patagonia saddles

  • International Passport:  Required for most foreigners (still 6 months valid)

  • Visa:  most European and Latin American citizens do not need a visa to travel to Chile. Contact the Chilean Embassy in your country for more info.

  • Vaccinations: not required in the área where we ride (for other regions consult your physician).

  • Gateway: Fly in and out to Punta Arenas (Airport code: PUQ)

  • Fishing:  fishing equipment is available on site. if desired, you can of course also bring your own fishing equipment.
     

Comfort at the Estancia: Comfortable. 

Estancia Mercedes is not a boutique hotel, not a dude ranch, but an authentic farm without fringes. The family house has 2 spare rooms where they can accommodate 6 guests. This being one double room /1 bed for a couple and another room with 4 bunk beds. Bathroom is separate. The house is built in cozy Patagonian country style and is always clean.

Weather in Southern Chilean Patagonia : 

Best period to visit Patagonia is from September to April

Because of its proximity to the Southern Ice Field and the Pacific Ocean, you can have all four seasons in one day, therefore, you must be prepared for everything. Wind is a major factor to determinate the climate. Wind sometimes reaching more than 100 mph. Summer temperature (December-March) is between 4C° minimum and maximum 15C° (can drop to freezing temperatures overnight), and sometimes reaching up to day temperatures of 25C° . During those months the days have 18 hours of light. September to November and January to March are generally a few degrees cooler. Be prepared for sun, snow, rain, fog and wind all in one single day.

Luggage: 

The maximum allowable weight of your luggage depends from airline to airline. Check with the airline or travel agent how many kilograms and pieces of luggage you can take.

Safety: 

Chile is one of the safest countries in Latin-America, at the farm there is no need to worry at all! They also have satellite phone and radio station in case of emergency.

 

 

Language:

There will be NO Entre Orejas trip leader on this trip. So, you will be travelling alone or with your family or friend(s) to the Estancia. At the Estancia you will be welcomed by Sebastian and Grissel.
Sebastian speaks basic English and Grissel speaks it pretty well. Their native language is Spanish. But they both enjoy talking and learning English.

Health

Chile is a safe country in terms of health. You can easily eat and drink anything without being stomach bothered. Eating raw vegetables, salads and ice-creams is no problem. There are no vaccinations required for Chile

Seguro de Viaje OBLIGATORIO:

Pregúntele a su compañía de seguros local o agente de viajes al respecto. No se le permitirá participar en el programa de vacaciones de cabalgatas "Entre Orejas" sin tener un seguro de viaje personal. Los detalles de su seguro serán solicitados a la llegada.

 

Seguro de Cancelación de Viaje OBLIGATORIO:
Se recomienda un seguro de cancelación de viaje: Para protegerse contra circunstancias imprevistas que interfieran con sus vacaciones "Entre Orejas", le recomendamos que compre un seguro de cancelación de viaje. Puede utilizar cualquier compañía de seguros de viaje con la que se sienta cómodo.

 

Acuerdo de liberación de responsabilidad:

Los clientes de "Entre Orejas" deben firmar un acuerdo de liberación de responsabilidad en el momento del check-in. Esto es obligatorio y los invitados no pueden participar la cabalgata sin firmar el acuerdo de liberación (todos los fondos pagados NO son reembolsables). No dude en leer el acuerdo de liberación antes de su llegada.

Los padres o tutores legales de niños menores de edad deben firmar el acuerdo de liberación en nombre de sus hijos. Por favor, dirija todas las preguntas a la oficina.

Cash dispensers can be found in all towns and cities. In the cities, you can pay with credit cards. (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express ). Normally you will need no money during your stay at the Estancia.
